Books I Can’t Wait to Read!

I was a reader way before I was a writer. In fact my writing career is so recent, just a year old, that I have many, many years of reader-dom. And I still get so excited when I read a great book.

I’m currently reading the second book in Lauren Christopher’s Sandy Cove series, Ten Good Reasons. I’m only on chapter five, but I’m already totally in love with the hunky, troubled hero, Evan Bentancourt. And the heroine is sweet and realistic – and there are whales! As my grandmother from Brooklyn used to say – What’s not to like?

There are a few books coming out this year that I can’t wait to read.

One is a cozy mystery by Diana Orgain, who (full disclosure) is an acquaintance. But because I know her, I got to hear a little of her thought process in creating her next, adorably titled, cozy mystery, Yappy Hour. I even got to make suggestions about how weird dogs might behave, based on my extremely neurotic rescue dog!

I love Diana Palmer’s books. I think she writes the perfect, classic westerns. She has a new book out in July, and how can you go wrong with a title like Untamed, and such a gorgeous cover photo?

Sound the trumpets because Nora Roberts has a new series coming out! Stars of Fortune is the first in The Guardians Trilogy. The new trilogy is one of her semi-paranormals, where magic and everyday life come together. And it’s set on Corfu, where I got to live and work for a short time in my wild and crazy youth. It’s not until November though… but something to look forward to when the nights are long and perfect for curling up with a good book!

I’m a huge Kristan Higgins fan, and she has a book coming out this year called If You Only Knew, which is primarily about sisterhood. Since I have three sisters, I know the ups and downs of sisterhood well, and can’t wait to read Higgins’ take on it all!

Take a look at these books and see what you think. Do they look fun to you? What are you looking forward to reading?
