Fall is in the Air!

I love the fall season! And this past week I released a new novella called Her Hometown Cowboy that is full of pumpkins and a harvest festival and the weather changing from the heat of late summer to the chill of autumn. Sharing it with readers puts me in the fall spirit!

Her Hometown Cowboy is part of a book called Falling for You, Ten Small Town Romance Novellas. I’ve been reading the novellas that the other authors wrote for the book and they definitely create an ambiance of fall! New England fall. California coastal fall. Southern fall. It’s really fun to see how authors approach fall in their region of the country!

And then there’s real-life fall. Right here in Northern California, where I live. This weekend my family and I went to a fall celebration and apple tasting at Wilder Ranch, a state park near our house that hosts all kinds of wonderful events. I felt like I was in one of the novellas! Everything was so beautiful on the coast, because fall paints everything with a sort of half-light that makes it seem like it’s glowing just a bit. Here are a few photos from the day.

Gorgeous evening light and cattle grazing at Wilder Ranch.

The old barn lit up by the last sun at the end of the day.

Brussels sprouts growing at the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Tasting heirloom apples!

So many different kinds of apples! We’d never heard of most varieties.

Even pink apples!

And how could I resist taking a photo of this lovely, welcoming scarecrow?

I hope you have a chance to get out and experience the fall season in your own region. And if you want to experience it in other places, please consider downloading a copy of Falling for You!
