Why BookBub? Well, this is an excellent question and something I asked myself when I first started hearing about the website and newsletter, years ago. It seemed like a service for independent authors, who could advertise their sale price books there. But they had more control over their pricing and giveaways than I did, since I was traditionally published.

But then I realized that as a reader, it’s a great service. By following my favorite authors on BookBub, I find out what they’ve been reading, and then I can read those books too. And I get information about all kinds of sale books, which really helps my reading budget stretch a lot farther.

Then I did become independently published, first in the anthology of novellas, Falling for You, and then with my first indie novel, Sleigh Bells in the Snow. And suddenly BookBub’s author services became a lot more interesting! What I’ve learned is that the more followers I have on Bookbub, the more access I have to their services. If I have enough followers, BookBub will send out a new-release notice to all of them, and they’ll include me in other promotional opportunities.

But most of all, I enjoy BookBub. It’s completely focused on reading, which I find a lot more relaxing than some of the social media sites out there. I’d love to build more of a community on BookBub!
